Instructions for installing memory in the iMac 350Mhz to 600Mhz slot loading machines

For your convience this tutorial has both digarams and quicktime movies of each step of your installation. Feel free to play, pause or rewind them as many time as you need to. Click on the still pictures to enlarge them for detail.

Step 1. Find a soft surface to gently turn your iMac over on so as not to scratch it.

Step 2. Using a small coin open the door as shown in fiqure (A.) turning the lock counter clockwise. You will notice icons that resembles a lock, turn it to the unlock position. Once you have the door open look inside and you will see two memory slots. You may notice you have one memory stick already occuping one slot so your new memory will take up the remaining slot.

Your memory will have two notches on one side of it, this shows how the memory needs be installed with notches to the left. In figure (D) you can see the two notches we are talking about.

Step 4. Firmly push on both ends of the memory until you hear a click.as seen in fig. (E) The two white post will click the memory into place.

Final step 5. Make sure the memory is in place. Check that white the tabs are in the up position.
